The question
How do you unlock the unrealised innovation potential inside your own manufacturing capabilities and turn it into scalable products people actually want?

What we did
For Arla, the opportunity wasn’t starting from scratch. It was rethinking what was already possible.
We partnered with the insight and innovation team to decode their existing manufacturing capabilities and turn them into a springboard for innovation. Combining technical expertise with fresh consumer insight and category context.
We brought in outside perspectives, from a generational expert to ingredient and flavour trends via 3rd party suppliers, and grounded everything in rich consumer insight.
Alongside this, we translated technical capabilities into tangible “building blocks” for innovation, helping connect what Arla could make with what consumers actually want.
The result was a focused, scalable pipeline built from the inside out.

Our impact
The work shifted thinking from incremental innovation to platform-led growth.
Arla moved from a broad set of possibilities to a clear set of scalable innovation opportunities. All grounded in consumer demand, technically feasible, and designed to deliver meaningful commercial impact.
Just as importantly, it proved a new way of working: a truly global/local collaboration, bringing together consumer insight and technical expertise from the outset, to create ideas that are not only exciting, but viable, scalable, and built for the real world.
